Sermon by Jentezen Franklin:Spiritual Keys To Fasting



Some important points about fasting:
1) Fasting does not manipulate God : you can never earn grace or favor because you are fasting its only by grace we get those things!
2) Fasting is an invitation not a requirement : it's something voluntary not forced
3) Fasting is humbling your self before God
4) Fasting is a form of worship (Romans 12:1)
5) Fasting is spiritual discipline which is done by a physical act
6) When fasting ask God but do not demand from Him
7) When fasting you need to be spiritually ready to hear from God

"Then all the Israelites, the whole army, went up to Bethel, and there they sat weeping before the Lord. They fasted that day until evening and presented burnt offerings and fellowship offerings to the Lord." Judges 20:26

"16 When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 17 But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face," Matthew 6:16-17

"Paul and Barnabas appointed elders for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting, committed them to the Lord, in whom they had put their trust." Acts 14:23

He is a Better Planner!

I did not mean to take the whole summer off from blogging it just so happen to be that way. Partly due to the numerous things that were changing in my life but more so due to lack of better planning/ time blocking. One of the highlights of my summer was becoming a Mrs. I never knew the weight the pre-fix would carry until I heard someone address me as such.
