I remember that week as if it was last week. I got grounded for the first time! It was beginning of August of 2009. My parents came to me one day and said that I was not allowed to leave the house. Mind you it was the last week in Ethiopia. You see I was heading to Canada in a weeks time. I thought to spend each and every single day by being productive. Or so I thought! I had planned to meet at least 3 people a day in order to have a proper good bye with my closest friends. My parents were firm! I cried..they stood their ground! I cried even more...it was still a no! They told me that they would provide refreshments for my friends if they came to my house to say goodbye instead of me going out. I was not too pleased but I thought it was better than nothing. And so that week passed and I came to Canada. Till this day I do not understand why my parents did what they did..may be I will never understand it..but I know they had great intentions at heart! Sometimes in our walks with God
