Drowning in Vs. Pouring out

People have different views when it comes to alcohol. For some, it’s almost like a ‘pain-killer’ for others it’s just something they consume when in a social setting. Now, my focus today is on the people who use alcohol as a pain-killer. The basic numbing impact of alcohol is what people use as means of killing pain. But, when you are sober again after a night of ‘no-pain’ guess what comes? The pain that you avoided yesterday plus a hangover!!!  Drinking to the point that we forget our current state is not killing pain but drowning in a sea of alcohol! However, there is another way out!!

I don’t know how many of you know this but I am a crier. I cry to let out stress or cry to my father in heaven when things don’t seem to be working out! In my walk with God these past couple of years God has been teaching me the worth of tears. “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.” Psalm 56:8. Knowing that God is the only one capable of counting my tears worthy enough to count, I mostly just cry to Him. Whatever God tells us in His word is not just there just because, it is there to tell us know how much we mean to Him. He, throughout the entire bible, describes how much we mean to Him and yet how we continue to rebel against Him just boggles my mind!

Remember how a paragraph ago I said there was another way out! There is! Instead of downing in sea of alcohol why not pour out our tears to the one and only God that keeps track of them! I am not making this up, but the times I have gone down on my knees to pray about my worries and cried out to my lord, peace that surpasses all understanding takes control of my heart!. “6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

He also says…
28 come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Notes:
  • Instead of drowning in alcohol, which will later give you a hangover, pour your sorrows out to God!
  • He doesn’t let any tear go to waste!

Stay Blessed<3

Sermon by Jentezen Franklin: Spirit of Python: Teaching Angels to Worship

When you are going to hell/trails and you worship is when you can teach the Angels to Worship :) 1) God is Spirit : the Spirit is looking for people who will worship Him in truth and In spirit. *In Truth: the right truth (Jesus : see John 14:6) * In Spirit: even during trails we need to be in the spirit of Joy, Faith, Hope and Love "God is spirit,  and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:24 2) God can make something out of nothing : before God spoke the world into motion it was nothing. He took what was nothing made it into something. He also hung it on nothing, there is nothing that holds the universe in place! “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?      Tell me, if you understand." Job 38:4 How and when can we teach worship to the Angels? Angels Vs. Us Angels 1) Angels have never been nor will they ever be under the course of sin 2) They live in a perfect place (Heaven) 3) The fir...

He is a Better Planner!

I did not mean to take the whole summer off from blogging it just so happen to be that way. Partly due to the numerous things that were changing in my life but more so due to lack of better planning/ time blocking. One of the highlights of my summer was becoming a Mrs. I never knew the weight the pre-fix would carry until I heard someone address me as such. I don't know about you but the Amharic word is, even more, weightier, "ወይዘሮ/weyizero"!. That was one of my life updates. Now that I said that, let's get to the meat and potatoes of my post... I have said before that I am a recovering perfectionist. Today, I stand before you confirming that statement still rings true in my life. I confess, somedays, I face some battles as if I had never before and get frustrated because I haven't gotten perfect at not being a perfectionist! You see the irony...   Tracing back where my want/need to be perfectionist came from, I was surprised to find out that it was linked to ...
