Evangelism or Sales

Good morning :) Just pretend today is Friday lol :) This is a post that was supposed to be for Friday sorry for the delay!

I don’t know if I have ever mentioned that I work part time, I serve at an Ethiopian restaurant. You will probably be hearing about this job of mine many times in the things I will be writing. If any of you have ever worked in restaurants or any job that requires sales you will defiantly relate. Don’t stress, you will still understand even if you have never worked in a sales job. Personally, I am not a big fan of alcohol. At work though, we sell both food and alcohol. I am so much more convincing when I am making a sell on food that I love, or even food that I know is good than alcohol. Now, when it comes to alcohol, it is a different story. First off, I can’t even explain the difference between different beers nor can I express my liking of beer by describing the different flavours. Part of the reason I lack passion for describing or selling alcoholic drinks is also because I don’t drink and so I can’t explain it based on my own personal experience. If you have a product that you have to sell you first need to believe in it yourself.

Evangelism is basically sharing the good news, The Gospel. Btw according to God’s word in Mark 16:15 all Christians were called to evangelize: “And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” The best evangelists are people who have experienced God themselves, those who share the gospel by sharing their own experience and letting people see for themselves how marvelous His work is. Like my alcohol vs. food example, a person who has experienced Christ can share Christ better than a person who Just knows about Him. This is not to discourage anyone; in fact this is to encourage you! Paul the Apostle used to be Saul. Saul was a guy who persecuted Christians but, one day Jesus appeared to him. After experiencing Christ Saul was never Saul again, he became Paul the Apostle. Mind you, Paul did not have knowledge of Christ he experienced Christ. We all know how much he evangelized! So my point in a nutshell, even if you don’t know the bible inside out your experience with the living father can be a great tool for evangelizing. People can challenge you if you just throw bible verses and sometimes you might not have logical answers to their questions but what they can’t do is question your experience. No matter what they ask or how many challenging questions they fling at you, your experience is still your experience. Today be encouraged, though you don’t know many verses by heart or know the bible inside out, experiencing God is superior. Do not fear as you go out to evangelize because God said: Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20

Notes:
·         You can sell something you have tasted better than something you don’t even like or know off
·         Evangelize to share the love you have experienced
·         Evangelism is something we are all called to do as Christians

Sermon by Jentezen Franklin: Refuse to Pretend

Be a Contender not a Pretender!  1) The time Jacob labored to get Rachel was nothing to him because of how much he loved her. Similarly when you love God all the sacrifices you make are nothing..if you truly love Him that is! "So Jacob served seven years to get Rachel, but they seemed like only a few days to him because of his love for her." Genesis 29:20 Rachel is his first Love..She is representation of Jesus and His Love where as Leah is the  substitute ..not the real one. Rachel is the one where as Leah is the second option..not the best! Leah is Religion where as Rachel is Relationship with Christ Leah is Survival where as Rachel is Revival 2) Do not be Pretenders but Contenders "Dear friends,  although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share,  I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend  for the faith  that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people."Jude 1:3 Do not be like people who come t...

Video of the Week : Holding on to You

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful." Hebrews 10:23  Teach me until I am broken no more, feed me until am hungry no more! I am Holding on to You!! Today I encourage you to hold on to Him, the Faithful one who won't let go of you even if you let go of Him! Hold on to the one who has you in His hands, to the one who numbered every stand of hair and all of your days!! I have seen His miracles in times of my storm by just choosing to Hold on to Him!!! When the Music Stops...

Hey Friends, I am trying to honour my commitment to make at least one blog post a month, so here goes July. That being said, please know that I am not posting for the sake of posting. I am trying to cultivate an active listening skill when it comes to each topic I share i.e. I will not post until I am convinced I heard from my heavenly daddy. I hope this is one speaks to you. :)   When the Music Stops... This marks the first time I talk about my hubby-to-be on this blog. This man is a Gem! He is a true worshipper, a man after God's heart. He also happens to be an anointed worship leader :) I am not saying that because I love him, I promise. The reason I bring him up though is because one of the very many conversations we have had about music is a good illustration to the point I will make later in this post. He mentioned that  it is common practice amongst some parents to hide their kids' musical instruments closer to exam seasons in the hopes of helping them focus...
