Feeling Vs Being alive!

This past month has been the most radio I have listed to in nearly 5 years.  I have noticed that most of the songs played are not only repeated a billion times a day, they also have lyrics about life. The songs echo a deep craving people have for a joyful, purposeful and meaningful life. One of these songs really caught my attention, the lyrics was ringing in my ears "everything that kills me makes me feel alive". Do you see the irony in that??? So according to the lyrics, things that seem to give you life actually take it away! You see when people claim that alcohol is the life of the party they neglect to mention it is nothing but a mere distraction from life. They also don't tell you the heavy baggage it comes with. For that moment you will feel alive, but what about the next day? So if you don't feel alive do you then conclude you aren't living? Do you then go back to the alcohol to feel alive again? Do you see a vicious cycle forming?

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10

The enemy of our souls, the devil, comes with an intention to still our Joy, kill our purpose and destroy the meaningful life we have. The things of the world are his distractions. He uses alcohol and drugs to lure people in to his trap to later destroy them. It might not be an instant kill, but the end is eternal death. You see even those who claim alcohol is the life of the party get admitted to rehab. If it was a giver of life then people wouldn't need to go get help to fight it.

The true meaning of life came in a form of a baby. A baby born to a humble servant of the Lord. This baby, Jesus Christ, did not come to steal, kill and destroy but to give. He came to give life, life in abundance. The life He offers is one that not only makes you feel alive but leads you to eternal life. You see there is a huge difference between feeling alive and being alive!

P.S alcohol is only one example, I just chose it because it is the most accessible and obvious one!

Stay Blessed<3

Sermon by Jentezen Franklin: Spirit of Python: Teaching Angels to Worship

When you are going to hell/trails and you worship is when you can teach the Angels to Worship :) 1) God is Spirit : the Spirit is looking for people who will worship Him in truth and In spirit. *In Truth: the right truth (Jesus : see John 14:6) * In Spirit: even during trails we need to be in the spirit of Joy, Faith, Hope and Love "God is spirit,  and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:24 2) God can make something out of nothing : before God spoke the world into motion it was nothing. He took what was nothing made it into something. He also hung it on nothing, there is nothing that holds the universe in place! “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?      Tell me, if you understand." Job 38:4 How and when can we teach worship to the Angels? Angels Vs. Us Angels 1) Angels have never been nor will they ever be under the course of sin 2) They live in a perfect place (Heaven) 3) The fir...

He is a Better Planner!

I did not mean to take the whole summer off from blogging it just so happen to be that way. Partly due to the numerous things that were changing in my life but more so due to lack of better planning/ time blocking. One of the highlights of my summer was becoming a Mrs. I never knew the weight the pre-fix would carry until I heard someone address me as such. I don't know about you but the Amharic word is, even more, weightier, "ወይዘሮ/weyizero"!. That was one of my life updates. Now that I said that, let's get to the meat and potatoes of my post... I have said before that I am a recovering perfectionist. Today, I stand before you confirming that statement still rings true in my life. I confess, somedays, I face some battles as if I had never before and get frustrated because I haven't gotten perfect at not being a perfectionist! You see the irony...   Tracing back where my want/need to be perfectionist came from, I was surprised to find out that it was linked to ...
