My Dream

It was sometime in the summer, I remember waking up and panicking. I had seen a dream and it wasn't to be taken lightly.  Before I tell you about my dream let me tell you that I take dreams very seriously. It was after one of my very close friends told me about sources and interpretation of dreams that I started taking my dreams seriously.  Dreams have 3 sources: 1) God 2) the devil and 3) daily experiences or our thoughts coming in to play in form of dreams.  Now do you see why I take them seriously?

 “And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.” Joel 2:28

My dream

In this dream of mine I was being persecuted for the name of Christ. Because I see a lot of dreams like that the beginning of the dream was not too much of a shock. However, this one stood out because the type of persecution was new to me. My persecutors tortured me by making me think they were torturing Christ Himself. They dug up a grave and pulled out a body and claimed it was Christ.  You see, even in my dream I knew my savior has risen that His grave was left empty. Nevertheless, my reaction was to run and pick the body up from the floor hug it and cry. I woke up in a disturbed state. I thought to myself, if I knew even in my dream that Christ has risen why then did I hug a dead body and assume it was Him?  I prayed about this dream for months. Even though, I am not entirely sure of the exact interpretation God has taught me things using it.

You see the devil tempts Christians with more than a few ways. The most obvious are always when he tries to get the glory only God deserves. The devil always craves a spot light, the throne.  The type of temptations that are uncommon or parts where he gets creative is when it comes to core beliefs and values.  What would Christianity be if I didn't know Christ not only died but rose again?

“14 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 15 More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. 19 If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied.20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first-fruits of those who have fallen asleep.” 1 Corinthians 15: 14-20

These verses summarize exactly where our faith would be without the resurrection of Christ! Our faith would be shaken; our solid ground would be sinking sand. Notice that the devil will throw facts and evidence that will to plant a seed of doubt in you. Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see” Hebrew 11:1, you see how your faith shouldn't be moved by evidence or facts?

The thing is the devil would't allow you to test and see if the evidence he throws at you is legitimate. When I think about it now, I don’t even know if the body my persecutor pulled out was a male or a female body. But, he had me crying over it. The thing is we have a dependable mechanism of checking if something is part of the devil’s orchestrated lies or God’s truth. You can simply see how compatible it is with the word of God. You see God is always consistent in His Character. Never will you find contradiction between His Character and the bible.

So my advice when any doubt comes up, challenge it! Be like the man in Mark 9, ask the Lord to help you with your doubts.

“Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!" Mark 9:24

Sermon by Jentezen Franklin: Refuse to Pretend

Be a Contender not a Pretender!  1) The time Jacob labored to get Rachel was nothing to him because of how much he loved her. Similarly when you love God all the sacrifices you make are nothing..if you truly love Him that is! "So Jacob served seven years to get Rachel, but they seemed like only a few days to him because of his love for her." Genesis 29:20 Rachel is his first Love..She is representation of Jesus and His Love where as Leah is the  substitute ..not the real one. Rachel is the one where as Leah is the second option..not the best! Leah is Religion where as Rachel is Relationship with Christ Leah is Survival where as Rachel is Revival 2) Do not be Pretenders but Contenders "Dear friends,  although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share,  I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend  for the faith  that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people."Jude 1:3 Do not be like people who come t...

When the Music Stops...

Hey Friends, I am trying to honour my commitment to make at least one blog post a month, so here goes July. That being said, please know that I am not posting for the sake of posting. I am trying to cultivate an active listening skill when it comes to each topic I share i.e. I will not post until I am convinced I heard from my heavenly daddy. I hope this is one speaks to you. :)   When the Music Stops... This marks the first time I talk about my hubby-to-be on this blog. This man is a Gem! He is a true worshipper, a man after God's heart. He also happens to be an anointed worship leader :) I am not saying that because I love him, I promise. The reason I bring him up though is because one of the very many conversations we have had about music is a good illustration to the point I will make later in this post. He mentioned that  it is common practice amongst some parents to hide their kids' musical instruments closer to exam seasons in the hopes of helping them focus...
