Learning

Having been in school for most of my life (since I was 3), I have either caught myself or seen others do the 3 types of learning/studying I am going to discuss. The first type is learning for the sake of passing a national examination. I don’t know if you know how that is like. It is pretty much reading/memorizing 2 years worth of stuff to pour it all out on one test paper. It is the type of learning done just for the sake of passing or doing well on an exam.  The second type is when you are learning because you are so passionate about it. It is when you are learning for the purpose of knowing not just for passing an exam. Btw learning for the sake of knowing will definitely get you great results let alone just passing.  The second will take you a longer way than the first type when it comes to higher education. The third type of learning is, learning for the sake of passing it on to others. This one is where you are past the point of just passionate. You are so intrigued by the thing you are studying that you want to pass it on. You think this thing that you are learning will not only stop at changing your life but others also. You will strive to know all there is to know about this one thing that you are passionate about. You will learn every detail of its existence. You will bring it to others with the fire you have for it. And people will see that your life truly revolves around this one thing. These are the people who will end up being professors in the same field they graduated from in undergrad.

I want to bring the same analogy to our walks with God. Let us divide the type of Christians we see/are. The first type, a group of people who are satisfied with just knowing that they have Christ so they are cleared to go to heaven. These people will use Christ as an insurance policy; as only a means of escaping fires of hell.  These people spend time looking like Christians more than being Christians. For they loved human praise more than praise from God.” John 12:43

The second type, these people are saved to the core. They love the lord. They live out their Christianity more than they talk about it.  They don’t miss church service, and still have 2-3 bible studies a week minus the one they have within their home. The one thing these people lack is sharing all that they have in the Lord. They lack to fulfill the great commission, 19 therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 . They lack the passion of sharing their blessings to others.

The third type, these are people deemed as 'radical'. These are people that others refer to as ‘Fanatic’. These are people that are hard core and sold out for Christ. These are the people that are passionate about learning and sharing. These are people who Love the Lord together with living out the great commission. These are people that have denied themselves for the sake of the Cross. These are people who have their lights shining and you wouldn't miss it from the next city. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

Which one are you? Are you just settling with a lukewarm type of life or do you want more? Ask yourself these questions and learn about where you stand in your walk with God. If you discover that you need more of God, then truly seek Him and you will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13)

Sermon by Jentezen Franklin: Spirit of Python: Teaching Angels to Worship

When you are going to hell/trails and you worship is when you can teach the Angels to Worship :) 1) God is Spirit : the Spirit is looking for people who will worship Him in truth and In spirit. *In Truth: the right truth (Jesus : see John 14:6) * In Spirit: even during trails we need to be in the spirit of Joy, Faith, Hope and Love "God is spirit,  and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:24 2) God can make something out of nothing : before God spoke the world into motion it was nothing. He took what was nothing made it into something. He also hung it on nothing, there is nothing that holds the universe in place! “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?      Tell me, if you understand." Job 38:4 How and when can we teach worship to the Angels? Angels Vs. Us Angels 1) Angels have never been nor will they ever be under the course of sin 2) They live in a perfect place (Heaven) 3) The fir...

Sermon by Jentezen Franklin: The Power of Doing More than Expected

Even Jesus went a little farther...He did more than expected! Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” Matthew 26:39 1) Jacob was working for his unfair father-in-law...and still did more than expected   Genesis 29 Jacob was tricked by his father-in-law Laban. But he never sinned against Laban and he always did more than what was expected from him! 2) Who did Jacob learn it from..doing more than expected? From his mother Rebekah "17  The servant hurried to meet her and said, “Please give me a little water from your jar.” 18  “Drink, my lord,” she said, and quickly lowered the jar to her hands and gave him a drink. 19  After she had given him a drink, she said, “I’ll draw water for your camels too, until they have had enough to drink.” 20  So she quickly emptied her jar into the trough, ran back to the we...

Just Jaded!

I hope you and your loved ones are safe in these crazy times. If any tragedy has come to your home, I pray God's peace and love envelops you right where you are. I pray that you rely on His unending love, mercy, grace, and strength in this time of hardship... I am, like most people, feeling very jaded. I have experienced more highs and lows in such intense frequencies now than any other time I can remember. I believe this is why the Lord has me sharing this... I had planned to write about loving people and what it looks like in different seasons. However, I felt a nudge that I should be sharing about the hope I have despite feeling jaded. To make sure we are on the same page about what I mean when I say jaded, here are two definitions from Merriam Webster's dictionary:  1: fatigued by overwork: EXHAUSTED  2: made dull, apathetic, or cynical by experience or by having or seeing too much of something I can identify with both definitions. In this season, I fin...
