Challenge of the Week!

Good evening everyone :) How is your New Year's Eve going??? Mine is going great praise God!! :)  How many of you have seen a Chicken getting slaughtered? It is not a pleasant site :( One thing I want to bring to your attention is how even after the neck is detached the body still struggles. It is like the chicken is saying, "I am not ready to die!" or  "no! I am not dying!!" I am talking about struggling even after death because I am reminded of human nature and the relationship we have with sin. Even after getting saved, it is rare to see people who have died to sin completely. Don't get me wrong, there are people who do a 360 right after receiving Christ as their Lord and Saviour.  Challenge of the Week: May be the whole of 2013 you have been struggling with sin that wasn't quiet killed when everything else died. May be there is some part of you still holding on to your old ways. May be you are not willing to let go of some of the worldly desires ...

Prayer of the Week!

Good afternoon everyone :) How is your Monday going? Mine is going great praise God :). Two more days  and we are done with 2013!!! Excited for the New Year??? I am :) It's that time of year again; we get together, have fun and most importantly make a list of things we want to accomplish in the coming year. New year's resolutions, everyone has them I am sure, but how many of us follow through? And how many of the things on that list are things that prepare you for the kingdom of heaven? Prayer of the Week: As you write your list this year prayerfully consider the things on it. Pray this week that your list will not be ordinary. Pray this week that you will actually commit to doing the stuff on the list. Pray this week for God given grace to help you finish 2014 with the momentum ( increase in momentum is encouraged :) ) you started it! "8  Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.   9  But he said to me,  "My grace  is sufficient f...

Lesson 4: Be careful what you pray for because you will get it!

November 7, 2013 Few days ago I asked God (in prayer) to humble me, I even had a facebook status about it. I had #humblemeLord on it too :) God is humorous. Today, I wasn't able to catch a taxi (if you don't have a car and you feel you don't want to deal with the crowd in city buses or higer buses you take taxis.) The only available means of transportation was a higer bus so I hopped on it, my aunt was very hesitant but I told her it was okay. I couldn't find a seat so I stood holding on tight to the  handrails  to avoid falling flat on my face.  My mind kept saying this situation was unfit for me..that I needed a different means of transportation. However, my heart reminded me of the request I had made few days back, I needed to be humbled by God. I learned a huge life lesson. Could it be for our own sake that God tells us to be humble or to have sober judgment of who we are?  "For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do n...

Video of the Week!

Silent night Holy night Son of God Love's Pure Light "Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."John 14:6 "8  And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.   9  An angel  of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.   10  But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid.  I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.   11  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah,  the Lord.   12  This will be a sign  to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” 13  Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,  14  “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace   to those on whom his  f...

Sermon by Jentezen Franklin : Divine Demotion

It is very important that Jesus came in form of a baby! Before He was Divinely Demoted He was in heaven 1) He was being worshipped by Angels and heavenly creatures "2  Above Him were seraphim,  each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet,  and with two they were flying.   3  And they were calling to one another: “Holy, Holy , Holy is the  Lord  Almighty;  the whole earth  is full of His glory.” Isaiah 6:2-3 2) He part took in the miracle of man making "26  Then God said, “Let us  make mankind  in our image,  in our likeness,  so that they may rule  over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky,  over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” Genesis 1:26 3) He was there before all things "He is before all things,  and in him all things hold together." Colossians ...

Challenge of the Week!

Good morning everyone :) How is your Tuesday going? Praise God mine is going :) Guess what? It is Christmas eve :) :) :) This Christmas might be different from the last. This Christmas you might be much more accomplished, much happier and better off than last. On the flip side, this Christmas you might be facing lots of challenges, things you never saw coming. Challenge of the Week: This week I challenge both you and I despite the difference in situations, let our focus be on Christ. This week I challenge both you and I to look to the light of the world. Yes, you might say this year is different. But, think of it this way, you might struggle this year but your eternity is secure because of the light of the world, Jesus Christ! Let nothing come between you and the Joy you have, especially during Christmas! "1  In the beginning was the Word,  and the Word was with God,  and the Word was God.   2  He was with God in the beginning.   3  Through him ...

Prayer of the Week!

Good afternoon everyone :) Nice to have power back (Yeah we had an outage, in Canada :D )! Hope you guys are having a great day :) Praise God my day is going great :) :)  What do you do when you want to remember why you love the one you love? Do you not relive your first moments together? Do you not remember the things that captured your heart?  Do you not think of things that make you happy about the person? Most importantly, do you not remember how your life used to be before the person came in and changed it for the better?   Prayer of the Week: This week Let us pray and relive our first moments with Jesus :) This week Let us remember in our prayers how Jesus first captured our hearts :) <3 This week let us remember in prayer how our lives were before He came in to our hearts <3 This week let us return to our first love <3 "Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first." Revelation 2:4 Stay Blessed<3

Lesson 3 : You will not be in a hurry if you don't know where you are going

November 5, 2013 My Amharic teacher from elementry all the way to first few years of high school was known for one thing. He was known to run in and out of class with the intention of saving time. He never wasted time. He always had an awakening sense of urgency. As I walking very fast to catch a taxi it seemed like no one else was in a  rush. I found my self walking faster than anyone around there. Then is when it hit me! You know how Paul talks about finishing his race, he doesn't say finishing his walk.  He had a sense of urgency in his tone. He knew very well that this life was only a blimp in reference to eternity. And if having a sense of urgency and a purpose in this short time can get you to the place of eternal peace, why not be urgent? After all you will reap what you sow! Remember though, we are saved only by grace not by works. So don't think you will find salvation by being urgent!  But, you will definetly work out your salvation by being urgent abou...

Video of the Week!

Here before Your alter I am letting go of all I have, of every motive every burden, everything that's in myself. I just want to wait on You, my God! I just want to dwell on who You are! "Cast your cares on the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken." Psalms 55:22 "Cast all your anxiety on Him because he cares for you." I Peter 5:7 "Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD." Psalms 27:14 Stay Blessed<3

Sermon by Jentezen Franklin: Spirit of Python: Teaching Angels to Worship

When you are going to hell/trails and you worship is when you can teach the Angels to Worship :) 1) God is Spirit : the Spirit is looking for people who will worship Him in truth and In spirit. *In Truth: the right truth (Jesus : see John 14:6) * In Spirit: even during trails we need to be in the spirit of Joy, Faith, Hope and Love "God is spirit,  and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:24 2) God can make something out of nothing : before God spoke the world into motion it was nothing. He took what was nothing made it into something. He also hung it on nothing, there is nothing that holds the universe in place! “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?      Tell me, if you understand." Job 38:4 How and when can we teach worship to the Angels? Angels Vs. Us Angels 1) Angels have never been nor will they ever be under the course of sin 2) They live in a perfect place (Heaven) 3) The fir...

Challenge of the Week!

Hey everyone :) How is your Tuesday afternoon so far? Mine is going just great praise God :) :)  Hey are you one of those people who read the bible and think the things you read could have only happened in those days? Do read the word of God and neglect to apply it to your life in a practical way? Do you not take some of the instructions literally? Challenge of the Week : This week I challenge both you and I to take the word of God seriously. I challenge you to read it and live it out. I challenge you to believe the promises and adhere to the instructions. I challenge you to recognize that trusting in His word is trusting in Him! "For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Hebrews 4:12 "And we also thank God continually  because, when you received the word of God,  which you heard from us, you accepted it not...

Prayer of the Week!

Hey everyone how was your day today? Mine was great praise God :)  Have you ever lost focus of what the end game is? As a Christian, have you forgotten to focus on Christ? Have you weighed your problems with tools of the world and forgotten to match it against the Mighty God, our Father in Heaven? Prayer of the Week: This week let's pray for God to grant us a clear vision on things. Let's pray that our focus stays on Christ. Let's pray that we will trust in Him and move forward. Let's pray for our crippling fear and hindering doubts to be removed!  27  But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying,  “Take heart; it is I.  Do not be afraid.” 28  And Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” 29  He said,  “Come.”  So Peter got out of the boat and  walked on the water and came to Jesus. 30  But when he saw the wind,he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out,  “Lord, save me.” ...

Lesson 2: Be content in all situation and thank God

November 5, 2013 The hugest lesson today was to find the courage and the faith to be content in all situations. Though it was a much more grieving time for Paul when he said it, I now know how he feels. When you feel like your day is going poorly and then a couple more things go wrong as if to prove Morphy's law true. Then of course you tend to complain. Don't worry it's not just you, it's all humans. And this is why things of the heavenly kingdom are not so natural to us as sinners. Because in the word of God we are told to not complain despite our situation. In fact, we are told to be content in all situation and give thanks to the most high King, God! So, when that moment of weakness shall come, when you feel like complaining, think eternally. Think of all the great things await you in eternity. In that moment, know that in Christ there is always a better and brighter tomorrow. "11  I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be cont...

Video of the Week!

You were reaching through the storm walking on the water even when I could not see. In the middle of it all when I thought You were thousand miles away, not for a moment did You forsake me! "Be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid or terrified  because of them, for the  Lord  your God goes with you;  he will never leave you  nor forsake  you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 Stay Blessed<3

Challenge of the Week!

Good afternoon lovely people :) How is your Tuesday going? Are you guys excited for Christmas? I know I am, I spent half my day putting up decorations yesterday :)   Are you one of those people who constantly rebel against any form of authority? It could be that you rebel against your parents. It could be that you rebel against your employer. It could be that you rebel against your church leader. It could also be that you rebel against your government. But what does the word of God say about authority? Challenge of the Week: This week I challenge you to start the to take submission to authority seriously. This week I challenge you to see how this brings glory to the Lord. This week I challenge you to study the word of God that I will put below here and take it seriously. This week and weeks to come I challenge you to apply it in your life, so that you bear fruits and bring Glory to God! "13  Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority:  whether t...

Prayer of the Week!

Hello everyone :) Good afternoon, how is your Monday going so far? Mine has been pretty eventful to say the least but I thank God for His guidance :) Are you that person who is always too naive? Do you always fall for traps? Do you always disregard potential warning signs by being to naive? Prayer of the Week: Pray this week for the lord to guide us in situations that require shrewdness. Pray that we will continue to be innocent while learning to be sharp to avoid potential danger. Pray that we retain our naive and positive nature as we learn important survival skills. Pray for wisdom, understanding and discernment that can only come from Him! "I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves" Matthew 10:16 Stay Blessed<3

Lesson 1 : Humility is essential for any Christian's walk with God

November 1, 2013 Today is a very pretty day, the sun is bright the sky is very blue with no lining of clouds. I am sitting alone in the family room ( it is very rare that I get to sit alone this time of day specially in the family room...it's 4:40pm). Today, I learned that I had taken my life style for granted. It took a trip to a really busy area of the city to help me see what I haven't thanked God for. I saw little kids, kids almost half my age working to make ends meet. I saw people working so hard despite their age, because I saw both young and old laboring. I felt very uncomfortable to the point that I almost got a headache. I told the person who took me there to get me out. To my defense the area didn't have an inviting odor. I just wanted to leave that place as soon as possible. Then I thought, what if God had wanted to use me in that place, what would my response be? Hours later, I am sitting back comfortably in our family room  and I am recognizing that I nee...

Video of the Week!

You are the promise never failing, You are my reward! And no matter what the cost I will follow You! Jesus, everything I lost I have found in you. "Jesus answered,  “I am  the way  and the truth  and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 "26  So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God  through faith,   27  for all of you who were baptized into Christ  have clothed yourselves with Christ.   28  There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free,  nor is there male and female,  for you are all one in Christ Jesus.   29  If you belong to Christ,  then you are Abraham’s seed,  and heirs  according to the promise." Galatians 3:26-29 Stay Blessed<3

Sermon by Jentezen Franklin :Spirit of Python: Defeating Tormenting Spirits

Never speak words that make the devil think he won!  Tormenting Spirits Our weapons against darkness are not carnal because you can't fight spiritual wars with carnal weapons. We wrestle against the power of darkness by doing the following :- 1) Praying in the Spirit  "11  Put on the full armor of God,  so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,  but against the rulers, against the authorities,  against the powers  of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Ephesians 6:11-12 "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds." 2 Corinthians 10:4 2) Worshiping and Praising God   "and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown  of beauty      instead of ashes, the oil  of joy ...
