Let your light shine!

When I heard of the Boston Marathon bombing was very shocked and saddened by the resulting destruction. I think what was shocking for me was to hear that the second suspect is only 19 years old!! 19?? 19??? He is still a teenager, he is probably still in school. Wow 19? What is this world coming to?? What are we doing about things like this? Are we just momentarily shocked and then we go on living our lives because it has not affected us directly? But what if you knew the 19 year old? What if he was a kid in your neighborhood? What if you knew the people who had gotten seriously injured or worse, passed away? I feel we need to start living lives that are empathetic. We need to stop and realize the world does not revolve around our busy lives alone..there is far more to it than that! I was not planing on writing about this but I guess I shall continue as the Spirit leads!

As a Christian who comes across very many young and old people who seem to have lost hope in life what do I have that can change their lives? I have Christ! I have a light I can shine into their lives. Very many times we walk past people who are in obvious pain, not just physical but emotional pain and we do not do anything about it! The 19 year old suspect is now a suspect the damage is already done. But, could we have prevented troubled people from doing such things, or even from committing suicide if we had invested five minutes of our time to talk to them? Could we have prevented these things by shining our light into their lives? A lot of questions we can not answer now!

Things we can do from now own, start with our own family and friends. Teach kids the values you have a Christian! Teach them who Christ is by living a life reflecting of Him and His character. They will surly grow up with a firm foundation, foundation made on the Rock Himself, Jesus Christ! “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.”Proverbs 22:6. And for everyone else, do what you do best, Let your light shine! In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16.

Notes

  • Take Time to notice the people around you, they might be waiting for a light to be shone in their lives
  • Christ teaches to share each others burdens, start looking around you will find people close to you are weary from carrying their burden alone!
  • Shine your light to the dark world!!

Stay Blessed<3

Sermon by Jentezen Franklin: Spirit of Python: Teaching Angels to Worship

When you are going to hell/trails and you worship is when you can teach the Angels to Worship :) 1) God is Spirit : the Spirit is looking for people who will worship Him in truth and In spirit. *In Truth: the right truth (Jesus : see John 14:6) * In Spirit: even during trails we need to be in the spirit of Joy, Faith, Hope and Love "God is spirit,  and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:24 2) God can make something out of nothing : before God spoke the world into motion it was nothing. He took what was nothing made it into something. He also hung it on nothing, there is nothing that holds the universe in place! “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?      Tell me, if you understand." Job 38:4 How and when can we teach worship to the Angels? Angels Vs. Us Angels 1) Angels have never been nor will they ever be under the course of sin 2) They live in a perfect place (Heaven) 3) The fir...

He is a Better Planner!

I did not mean to take the whole summer off from blogging it just so happen to be that way. Partly due to the numerous things that were changing in my life but more so due to lack of better planning/ time blocking. One of the highlights of my summer was becoming a Mrs. I never knew the weight the pre-fix would carry until I heard someone address me as such. I don't know about you but the Amharic word is, even more, weightier, "ወይዘሮ/weyizero"!. That was one of my life updates. Now that I said that, let's get to the meat and potatoes of my post... I have said before that I am a recovering perfectionist. Today, I stand before you confirming that statement still rings true in my life. I confess, somedays, I face some battles as if I had never before and get frustrated because I haven't gotten perfect at not being a perfectionist! You see the irony...   Tracing back where my want/need to be perfectionist came from, I was surprised to find out that it was linked to ...
