Sermon by Jentezen Franklin: Buzz Cut

We need a spiritual Buzz Cut!

"But the hair on his head began to grow again after it had been shaved." Judges 16:22

 (Samson being the enemy from the Philistines perspective)

   

1) If we cut sin from our lives it will not be as strong

 So he told her everything. “No razor has ever been used on my head,” he said, “because I have been a Nazirite dedicated to God from my mother’s womb. If my head were shaved, my strength would leave me, and I would become as weak as any other man.” Judges 16:17

2) When our enemy becomes entertainment, we forget how dangerous we even let our kids close to it

"While they were in high spirits, they shouted, “Bring out Samson to entertain us.” So they called Samson out of the prison, and he performed for them." Judges 16:25

3) You might have victory over sin but the enemy will come back to test you at a convenient situation (even Jesus avoided temptation

"When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time." Luke 4:13

4) The devil know to destroy us he just needs to destroy the two most important pillars we have

i) Our relationship with God: Praying, fasting, giving, serving and every form of worship

ii) Our NON-relationship with the world: make us so insensitive to sin that we don't have conviction any more, make us act and talk like the world

"Then Samson reached toward the two central pillars on which the temple stood. Bracing himself against them, his right hand on the one and his left hand on the other, ³⁰ Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” Then he pushed with all his might, and down came the temple on the rulers and all the people in it. Thus he killed many more when he died than while he lived." Judges 16:29b-30

5) Any works of the enemy we allow to come back will come back stronger

And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.” Matthew 12:43-45
