Who Am I?

This is an age-old question that generation after generation has asked in one form or another. In some respects, this question is an association with self-discovery whilst other times it speaks to the feeling of unworthiness or being undeserving. In a way, this question is one of the reasons we can not comprehend unconditional love. A love undeserved, not purchased, nor earned!

This question came to mind as I was reading Moses's conversation with the Lord; 11 But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”12 And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.” Exodus 3: 11 - 12

Don't you just love God's response? When we ask Him who we are that we can do this thing, have this, be this... He counters our objection by "I will be with you!" This encourages me so much! On days when I feel like my dreams are way too big, that my passions and talents don't exactly equate, or when I feel so far from where I think I should be, He reminds me that He is with me. I used to think the faith heroes/heroines in Hebrews 11 had some special ability until I looked over the list again. Noah was not an architect nor had he built an Ark prior. Abraham was not a famous explorer nor did he have a GPS of where God was asking him to go. Joseph was not a Poli Sci major nor did he intern at a local government office. All of these people had one thing in common; They Believed God and He was with them!

Today I write this to encourage you that God has you here for a reason. As Mordecai said to Esther in Esther 4:14  I say to you, maybe you are here for such a time as this! Maybe God has you where He has you for the exact purpose He created you for! The other piece of encouragement I get from reading through the scriptures is that each of these characters took their time to blossom into who God had called them to be. It took Joseph 17 years before he saw the dream he had realized. It took Abraham and Sarah waiting till they were 100 and 99 to finally receive their promise. And, Moses, he was a fugitive on the run before he became God's mouthpiece to His people.

This gives me the freedom to be exactly where I am while allowing God to change and mold me into who He has called me to be. This is also a gentle reminder to stop comparing my journey with someone else's destination. Maybe everyone around you has seen their dream come to fruition while you wait! My friend, keep on waiting on the Lord! Whatever time you think you have lost, He will replenish. However many wrong turns you took He is able to re-route you! Lastly, Dream Big my friend! One of my favorite preachers once said that our dream needs to be way bigger than ourselves and something we can never accomplish on our own. This is so that we get the opportunity to lean into Him!

"5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3: 5 -6

Sermon by Jentezen Franklin: Spirit of Python: Teaching Angels to Worship

When you are going to hell/trails and you worship is when you can teach the Angels to Worship :) 1) God is Spirit : the Spirit is looking for people who will worship Him in truth and In spirit. *In Truth: the right truth (Jesus : see John 14:6) * In Spirit: even during trails we need to be in the spirit of Joy, Faith, Hope and Love "God is spirit,  and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:24 2) God can make something out of nothing : before God spoke the world into motion it was nothing. He took what was nothing made it into something. He also hung it on nothing, there is nothing that holds the universe in place! “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?      Tell me, if you understand." Job 38:4 How and when can we teach worship to the Angels? Angels Vs. Us Angels 1) Angels have never been nor will they ever be under the course of sin 2) They live in a perfect place (Heaven) 3) The fir...

Sermon by Jentezen Franklin: The Power of Doing More than Expected

Even Jesus went a little farther...He did more than expected! Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” Matthew 26:39 1) Jacob was working for his unfair father-in-law...and still did more than expected   Genesis 29 Jacob was tricked by his father-in-law Laban. But he never sinned against Laban and he always did more than what was expected from him! 2) Who did Jacob learn it from..doing more than expected? From his mother Rebekah "17  The servant hurried to meet her and said, “Please give me a little water from your jar.” 18  “Drink, my lord,” she said, and quickly lowered the jar to her hands and gave him a drink. 19  After she had given him a drink, she said, “I’ll draw water for your camels too, until they have had enough to drink.” 20  So she quickly emptied her jar into the trough, ran back to the we...

Just Jaded!

I hope you and your loved ones are safe in these crazy times. If any tragedy has come to your home, I pray God's peace and love envelops you right where you are. I pray that you rely on His unending love, mercy, grace, and strength in this time of hardship... I am, like most people, feeling very jaded. I have experienced more highs and lows in such intense frequencies now than any other time I can remember. I believe this is why the Lord has me sharing this... I had planned to write about loving people and what it looks like in different seasons. However, I felt a nudge that I should be sharing about the hope I have despite feeling jaded. To make sure we are on the same page about what I mean when I say jaded, here are two definitions from Merriam Webster's dictionary:  1: fatigued by overwork: EXHAUSTED  2: made dull, apathetic, or cynical by experience or by having or seeing too much of something I can identify with both definitions. In this season, I fin...
