Have you tried Jesus?

Hey Peeps,

Yes, I know I keep needing to remind you that I am alive...that will change.

I was so shocked at how I have only had one post in 2016...and 2016 is almost over..what??

Anyhu let me get to the gest of my post today...

Today I woke up from a dream that was not only very detailed, real life like, but also so heavy in terms of the message it carried. I am still unpacking it. I woke up and a phrase I remember using in my dream was "Have you tried Jesus?"

The dream involved a public space, bunch of people - I only knew one person from the crowd, and the main character - also a person I have never seen. It seemed like this main character was done with this world, he kept on saying "I tried it all, I am tired, am done!"...and was ready to end his life.

I screamed out with a shaky voice, "Have you tried Jesus?" The man looked at me and did not move for few seconds. I felt in that moment he encountered the love of God, he somehow saw Jesus...I think... I remember staring at him. Such an intense moment I tell you. As I saw him respond to the very present presence of God, I started worshiping at the top of my lungs.

I woke up from this dream and started thinking about it. I had an overall idea of what it stood for but it is so detailed I will need to continue to seek the Lord to help me understand it.

In the mean time this very dream led me to think of the story of the lady who had an issue of bleeding for 12 years (Read Mark 5:25-34). It says this lady tried everything, she spent all she had, she went places and tried things but her bleeding did not stop. She heard of this man Jesus, and faith rose in her, she knew things would change if only she could touch the edge of his clothing. She reached out, she was encountered by His love, His healing power...she was changed!

For those of us who have heard of Him, who know Him or know of Him, it is for us to reach out to Him. It will not matter if He was/is your first or last resort (See this Parable of the field workers: Matthew 20)! His love remains unchanged!

However, it is our responsibility to seek out, look for, help and guide those who have never heard of the name Jesus. Those who are going through this hard life without a hope for eternity and abundant life in the 'now' of their lives. I have always thought of the great commission as only a missions related thing. I am learning that sometimes it is as simple as asking "Have you tried Jesus?"

Dear Heavenly Daddy help us be compasses to direct the hurting to the healer, the lonely to the one who is closer than a friend, the broken to the one who formed us!

Let us find few practical ways of walking this out! Faith without works is dead...the lady reached out..so should we!

Matthew 28:18-20 (ESV)
18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Sermon by Jentezen Franklin: Refuse to Pretend

Be a Contender not a Pretender!  1) The time Jacob labored to get Rachel was nothing to him because of how much he loved her. Similarly when you love God all the sacrifices you make are nothing..if you truly love Him that is! "So Jacob served seven years to get Rachel, but they seemed like only a few days to him because of his love for her." Genesis 29:20 Rachel is his first Love..She is representation of Jesus and His Love where as Leah is the  substitute ..not the real one. Rachel is the one where as Leah is the second option..not the best! Leah is Religion where as Rachel is Relationship with Christ Leah is Survival where as Rachel is Revival 2) Do not be Pretenders but Contenders "Dear friends,  although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share,  I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend  for the faith  that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people."Jude 1:3 Do not be like people who come t...

Video of the Week : Holding on to You

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful." Hebrews 10:23  Teach me until I am broken no more, feed me until am hungry no more! I am Holding on to You!! Today I encourage you to hold on to Him, the Faithful one who won't let go of you even if you let go of Him! Hold on to the one who has you in His hands, to the one who numbered every stand of hair and all of your days!! I have seen His miracles in times of my storm by just choosing to Hold on to Him!!! When the Music Stops...

Hey Friends, I am trying to honour my commitment to make at least one blog post a month, so here goes July. That being said, please know that I am not posting for the sake of posting. I am trying to cultivate an active listening skill when it comes to each topic I share i.e. I will not post until I am convinced I heard from my heavenly daddy. I hope this is one speaks to you. :)   When the Music Stops... This marks the first time I talk about my hubby-to-be on this blog. This man is a Gem! He is a true worshipper, a man after God's heart. He also happens to be an anointed worship leader :) I am not saying that because I love him, I promise. The reason I bring him up though is because one of the very many conversations we have had about music is a good illustration to the point I will make later in this post. He mentioned that  it is common practice amongst some parents to hide their kids' musical instruments closer to exam seasons in the hopes of helping them focus...
