Sermon by Jentezen Franklin: Three Goats

You can trade in the goat (sin) for the Holy Lamb (Jesus Christ)!

“Then you will go on from there until you reach the great tree of Tabor. Three men going up to worship God at Bethel will meet you there. One will be carrying three young goats, another three loaves of bread, and another a skin of wine." I Samuel 10:3

Goats: Sin and consequences of sin
Loaves of Bread : Body of Jesus Christ ( See: Matthew 26:26 and Luke 22:19)
Skin of Wine : Blood of Jesus Christ (See: Matthew 26:27 and Luke 22:20)

The three goats

1) Goat of Deception : Jacob deceived his own father

Rebekah said to her son Jacob, “Look, I overheard your father say to your brother Esau, ‘Bring me some game and prepare me some tasty food to eat, so that I may give you my blessing in the presence of the Lord before I die.’Now, my son, listen carefully and do what I tell you: Go out to the flock and bring me two choice young goats, so I can prepare some tasty food for your father, just the way he likes it. 10 Then take it to your father to eat, so that he may give you his blessing before he dies.”
11 Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, “But my brother Esau is a hairy man while I have smooth skin. 12 What if my father touches me? I would appear to be tricking him and would bring down a curse on myself rather than a blessing.”
13 His mother said to him, “My son, let the curse fall on me. Just do what I say; go and get them for me.”
14 So he went and got them and brought them to his mother, and she prepared some tasty food, just the way his father liked it. 15 Then Rebekah took the best clothes of Esau her older son, which she had in the house, and put them on her younger son Jacob. 16 She also covered his hands and the smooth part of his neck with the goatskins. 17 Then she handed to her son Jacob the tasty food and the bread she had made." Genesis 27: 6-17

2) Goat of Jealousy: Joseph's brothers were jealous of him

31 Then they got Joseph’s robe, slaughtered a goat and dipped the robe in the blood.32 They took the ornate robe back to their father and said, “We found this. Examine it to see whether it is your son’s robe.”
33 He recognized it and said, “It is my son’s robe! Some ferocious animal has devoured him. Joseph has surely been torn to pieces.” Genesis 37: 31-33

3) Goat of Immorality: The price for the act of immorality was a goat

"16 Not realizing that she was his daughter-in-law, he went over to her by the roadside and said, “Come now, let me sleep with you.”
“And what will you give me to sleep with you?” she asked.
17 “I’ll send you a young goat from my flock,” he said.
“Will you give me something as a pledge until you send it?” she asked." Genesis 38:16-17

Stay Blessed<3

Sermon by Jentezen Franklin: Spirit of Python: Teaching Angels to Worship

When you are going to hell/trails and you worship is when you can teach the Angels to Worship :) 1) God is Spirit : the Spirit is looking for people who will worship Him in truth and In spirit. *In Truth: the right truth (Jesus : see John 14:6) * In Spirit: even during trails we need to be in the spirit of Joy, Faith, Hope and Love "God is spirit,  and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:24 2) God can make something out of nothing : before God spoke the world into motion it was nothing. He took what was nothing made it into something. He also hung it on nothing, there is nothing that holds the universe in place! “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?      Tell me, if you understand." Job 38:4 How and when can we teach worship to the Angels? Angels Vs. Us Angels 1) Angels have never been nor will they ever be under the course of sin 2) They live in a perfect place (Heaven) 3) The fir...

He is a Better Planner!

I did not mean to take the whole summer off from blogging it just so happen to be that way. Partly due to the numerous things that were changing in my life but more so due to lack of better planning/ time blocking. One of the highlights of my summer was becoming a Mrs. I never knew the weight the pre-fix would carry until I heard someone address me as such. I don't know about you but the Amharic word is, even more, weightier, "ወይዘሮ/weyizero"!. That was one of my life updates. Now that I said that, let's get to the meat and potatoes of my post... I have said before that I am a recovering perfectionist. Today, I stand before you confirming that statement still rings true in my life. I confess, somedays, I face some battles as if I had never before and get frustrated because I haven't gotten perfect at not being a perfectionist! You see the irony...   Tracing back where my want/need to be perfectionist came from, I was surprised to find out that it was linked to ...
