Religious or Spiritual????

I was in my organic chemistry class when my professor started throwing the word religious around and I paid complete and total attention to find out what he was saying. I know what you are thinking, and Yes I was paying attention before that it’s just that word captured my attention.  As I continued to listen to my professor I found out he wasn’t even talking about anything church related and I am sure I heard him saying “make it your religious practice“. He is teaching us organic chemistry, so what he said was “make it your religious practice to learn how to properly draw chair confirmations of cyclohexanes.”

I turned to Google for further understanding of the phrase, to try and see if I could find the true meaning. What I found was a definition of religion what it didn’t have though, was Christ. Religious practice without Christ is mere repetition of tasks, call it performance. This is where we need to understand the difference between being spiritual and being religious. Religious is knowing procedure of church and following accordingly. Yes that is great if you do but, while doing so the focus should be on Christ. It is so easy to get carried away with rules and regulations and forget Christ. Isn’t that why the Pharisees opposed Christ so often? They were teachers of the law; they knew the law but knew not the Son of the Most High! A preacher once said, “When you serve God serve Him, with not just your mind or your talent, but with your heart as well!” If your Christianity is limited to just religious acts then that is just your brain and your limbs serving God! But what He wants is your heart! "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” Matthew 22:37. To Love God with all your heart is to serve Him with all your heart! And if your heart is serving, then your limbs and your brain will not oppose! Lets go through the transformation that Paul went through, from Saul to Paul, from a Pharisee to a believer, from religious to spiritual!

Notes:
·         Serve Him with your all
·         Being religious does not equal being spiritual
Stay Blessed<3

Sermon by Jentezen Franklin: Spirit of Python: Teaching Angels to Worship

When you are going to hell/trails and you worship is when you can teach the Angels to Worship :) 1) God is Spirit : the Spirit is looking for people who will worship Him in truth and In spirit. *In Truth: the right truth (Jesus : see John 14:6) * In Spirit: even during trails we need to be in the spirit of Joy, Faith, Hope and Love "God is spirit,  and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:24 2) God can make something out of nothing : before God spoke the world into motion it was nothing. He took what was nothing made it into something. He also hung it on nothing, there is nothing that holds the universe in place! “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?      Tell me, if you understand." Job 38:4 How and when can we teach worship to the Angels? Angels Vs. Us Angels 1) Angels have never been nor will they ever be under the course of sin 2) They live in a perfect place (Heaven) 3) The fir...

He is a Better Planner!

I did not mean to take the whole summer off from blogging it just so happen to be that way. Partly due to the numerous things that were changing in my life but more so due to lack of better planning/ time blocking. One of the highlights of my summer was becoming a Mrs. I never knew the weight the pre-fix would carry until I heard someone address me as such. I don't know about you but the Amharic word is, even more, weightier, "ወይዘሮ/weyizero"!. That was one of my life updates. Now that I said that, let's get to the meat and potatoes of my post... I have said before that I am a recovering perfectionist. Today, I stand before you confirming that statement still rings true in my life. I confess, somedays, I face some battles as if I had never before and get frustrated because I haven't gotten perfect at not being a perfectionist! You see the irony...   Tracing back where my want/need to be perfectionist came from, I was surprised to find out that it was linked to ...
