Just an employee

I warned you guys that once I started writing about where I work I will never stop right? Well if I didn’t before this, take it as a fair warning. It was one of my longer shifts and I had sort of begun so it was still almost empty except for my enthusiastic table of four ladies. When I am not swamped with customers, I like taking my time to talk to the ones there. After couple of trips and small talks one of the ladies asked me.” Are you the owner of this place?” I was flattered and quickly replied “Nope, am just an employee!” Then she hit me with a response I didn’t see coming,” you are not Just an employee you are an employee!” I walked away as I pondered on her reply to the statement I made. Then it hit me!!!!

When we think of ourselves as Christians don’t we do the same thing?  When we see people passionately evangelizing or preaching don’t we tell ourselves that we are just Christians? I don’t know about you but I went through a phase were I gave excuses why I didn’t take it up on myself to share the Gospel or even bring God up in my conversations with non-believers , because I just said to myself that I was Just a Christian that  just goes to church.  Hence, making it seem like it isn’t my role to do those things. Amongst the many definitions of the word the one I disliked was the adverb form of the word meaning ‘merely or only’.  You are a person that Christ died for; you are a person who has inherited daughter ship/son ship to the creator of the Universe through Christ our Lord. Do you still fill the need to refer to your selves as ‘Just Christians’? Don’t you now see the need to pick your Cross up and Follow Him, not just by going to Church, no! Follow Him by worshiping Him with your life, every part of it like God said in 1Peter 3:15 Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if you are asked about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it!” Don’t you feel the need to share more, knowing that you are sharing the good news of how you became a daughter/son of the Living God! Do you now see that you are not just a Christian? “For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus” Galatians 3:26
Notes:
  • You are not Just a Christian!!!! You are a Christian
  • Let us stop using ‘Just’ as an excuse to not fulfill our duties as Christians
  • You need to understand you are worth so much! So much that God gave His only son to die on a cross for your sake

Sermon by Jentezen Franklin: Refuse to Pretend

Be a Contender not a Pretender!  1) The time Jacob labored to get Rachel was nothing to him because of how much he loved her. Similarly when you love God all the sacrifices you make are nothing..if you truly love Him that is! "So Jacob served seven years to get Rachel, but they seemed like only a few days to him because of his love for her." Genesis 29:20 Rachel is his first Love..She is representation of Jesus and His Love where as Leah is the  substitute ..not the real one. Rachel is the one where as Leah is the second option..not the best! Leah is Religion where as Rachel is Relationship with Christ Leah is Survival where as Rachel is Revival 2) Do not be Pretenders but Contenders "Dear friends,  although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share,  I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend  for the faith  that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people."Jude 1:3 Do not be like people who come to church

Video of the Week : Holding on to You

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful." Hebrews 10:23  Teach me until I am broken no more, feed me until am hungry no more! I am Holding on to You!! Today I encourage you to hold on to Him, the Faithful one who won't let go of you even if you let go of Him! Hold on to the one who has you in His hands, to the one who numbered every stand of hair and all of your days!! I have seen His miracles in times of my storm by just choosing to Hold on to Him!!! When the Music Stops...

Hey Friends, I am trying to honour my commitment to make at least one blog post a month, so here goes July. That being said, please know that I am not posting for the sake of posting. I am trying to cultivate an active listening skill when it comes to each topic I share i.e. I will not post until I am convinced I heard from my heavenly daddy. I hope this is one speaks to you. :)   When the Music Stops... This marks the first time I talk about my hubby-to-be on this blog. This man is a Gem! He is a true worshipper, a man after God's heart. He also happens to be an anointed worship leader :) I am not saying that because I love him, I promise. The reason I bring him up though is because one of the very many conversations we have had about music is a good illustration to the point I will make later in this post. He mentioned that  it is common practice amongst some parents to hide their kids' musical instruments closer to exam seasons in the hopes of helping them focus
